Al Ahli The History
Al Ahli of Egypt earned the title as the best African team of the 20th century after dominating the continent's club competition throughout the 1980s and 1990s. The era of Mahmoud Al Khatib, Ahmed Shobeir and the Hassan twins remains a magical reminiscence for the club's vast legion of passionate fans.

However, since the turn of the century there has only been one further major title for a club who have sought to keep up their mantle as the most feared side in African football.
CAF Champions League success in 2001 was followed by three barren years, which for Al Ahli has been an unusually long period of disappointment. But the Cairo giants have emerged again this year as the early front runners in the Champions League and are moving steadily on course for a spot in the semi-finals.
