The build up to Tunisia's fierce derby was muted by the country's participation in the FIFA Confederations Cup in Germany but even if the Etoile Sahel-Esperance clash did not have the usually pre-match media show, it delivered all the expected drama on the field as the teams played out a highly charged goalless draw in the second match of Group B.
The two clubs met in the African Champions League at Sousse's Olympic stadium on Saturday, one week later than scheduled start of the group phase of the continental competition because Roger Lemerre's Tunisian squad in Germany featured several Etoile Sahel and Esperance players.
